Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Bargain Bed Store Ltd collects when you shop with us or get in touch, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Bargain Bed Store Ltd (company number 17293403, registered in England and Wales) is the controller of your personal data. This means we decide how and why it is used.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at Support@bargainbedstore.com, by phone on 07487 635858, or by post at T1 Dudley Court North, The Waterfront, Brierley Hill, DY5 1XP.
2. The information we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number.
- Order details: the products, sizes, fabrics and options you choose, your delivery and assembly choices, and your order history.
- Payment information: card payments are processed by our payment provider, WooPayments (powered by Stripe). We see the card type and the last four digits, never your full card number. If you choose to pay with Klarna, Klarna collects the information it needs to offer you its payment options.
- Messages and enquiries: what you tell us by email, phone or WhatsApp, or through our free swatch, trade and contact forms.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details and saved addresses.
- Newsletter: if you sign up, your email address and when and where you signed up.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, recorded by our web server and by the cookies described in section 6.
3. How and why we use it
The law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your data. These are ours:
| Why we use your data | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Taking, making and delivering your order, including booking delivery slots and assembly | Performing our contract with you |
| Taking payment and preventing fraud | Contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping payments secure |
| Customer service, returns, repairs and faulty-goods claims | Contract, and our legitimate interests |
| Posting free fabric swatches you ask for | Our legitimate interest in responding to your request |
| Replying to trade and business enquiries | Our legitimate interests |
| Keeping accounting and tax records | Legal obligation |
| Sending marketing emails, if you have opted in | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping our website working and secure | Our legitimate interests |
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where we need to, with:
- delivery and assembly partners, so they can deliver your order and contact you about your delivery slot;
- payment providers: WooPayments (Stripe) for card and Google Pay payments, and Klarna if you choose to pay with Klarna;
- service providers who run our website and email for us, such as our hosting provider;
- Trustpilot, which shows our customer reviews on this site and, when we use its review invitation service, emails you after your order is completed to ask about your experience;
- our accountants and professional advisers, and HMRC where the law requires it;
- the police or other authorities, where we are legally required to.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
5. How long we keep it
- Orders and accounting records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires.
- Customer service records: for as long as we need them to resolve your enquiry, and up to six years where they relate to an order.
- Swatch requests and enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to two years.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files saved on your device when you visit a website. We use them only to make the shop work:
| Type | What they do |
|---|---|
| Essential | Keep items in your basket, remember that you are logged in and keep the checkout secure. The shop cannot work without them. |
| Payment security | Our payment provider, Stripe, sets cookies on product, basket and checkout pages to help prevent fraud. |
| Embedded videos | If you play a YouTube, Instagram or TikTok video on our site, that service may set its own cookies. |
| Reviews | Trustpilot’s review widgets may set their own cookies when they load. |
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce them, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy.
Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers to download them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the basket and checkout will not work.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to how we use it;
- ask us to transfer your data to another organisation;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email Support@bargainbedstore.com. We will reply within one month, and in most cases we will not charge you.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us.
8. Keeping your data secure
Our website uses SSL encryption, access to your data is limited to the people who need it, and card payments are handled by a payment provider certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest security standard for card payments.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
